Scheduled Delivery
All
customers with an account balance within our credit terms and those on the
prepaid and budget plans are automatically on a scheduled delivery plan. This
means that the LP tank on your property will be filled when our drivers are
in your area. The driver will leave an invoice on your door. In the winter we
do ask that you help our drivers by occasionally checking the percent full
your propane tank gauge reads. If it is at 20% or below please call
800-657-3226 or 507-824-2251. The scheduled delivery plan allows our drivers
to be the most efficient with their time and reduces the mileage on the
trucks. This in turn allows us to offer a competitive price.
Will call delivery
If you choose not
to be on scheduled delivery or if your account does not have charging
privileges you must order your propane with at least 48 hours advance notice.
Please refer to the “fees” section. Will Call customers are not eligible for
cash discounts. There is also a minimum order of 250 gallons.
COD customers
COD customers
must place their LP order at least 48 hours in advance of when they need it delivered.
Please refer to the “fees” section. COD customers are not eligible for cash
discounts. There is also a minimum order of 250 gallons. The money for your
order must be brought to one of our locations before the propane will be
delivered. Propane will not be delivered after-hours (after 5:00 p.m.) or on
weekends to any COD customer, please plan accordingly.
Fees
Less than 48
hours advance notice - $60.00 service
charge and minimum fill of 250 gallons
Outages - $95.00 service charge and a minimum fill
of 250 gallons. The outage charge is for the driver to pressure test and
relight all pilots on appliances. The best way to prevent these charges is to
be on the scheduled delivery and have your account in a current status.
Otherwise please call the office when your tank is at 30% so you will avoid
the charges. COD customers must have the money at one of our offices before
the driver will deliver the propane. COD and will call customers are not
eligible for cash discounts.
Credit
All customers
must have an account set up with Farm Country Co-op. Please contact any
location to receive a credit application. Complete and sign the application
and return it to the Wanamingo office. Once your credit application has been
approved, it is in your best interest to keep your account in a current
status. If your account become past due, our drivers will not deliver LP to
your property without having payment in our office. Please refer to COD
Accounts for more information. If you have any problems with your account we
strongly suggest that you contact Heather at the Wanamingo office so
arrangements can be made. You may e-mail Heather at heathers@farmcountrycoop.com.
Summer Fill
All customers,
in good credit standing, will receive one fill sometime between July and the
end of August. As a thank you for allowing us to fill your tank in the
summer, we offer a special price with a great discount.
Prepay Program
The prepay
program allows you to lock in a price on your propane from September 1st
until April 30th. The prepaid price is set in August of every year
and contracts are sent out to the customers. To lock in the price, return
your signed contract with a check for the amount of gallons you wish to
prepay. If you do not receive a contract by mid-August please contact Heather
at the Wanamingo office so we can send one to you. As a prepaid customer, our
driver will fill your tank whenever he is in your area. You cannot prepay and
be a will call customer unless you own your own tank. If the market price is
less than the prepaid price you must use your prepaid gallons first before
you can buy at the market price. If you prepay for the propane with your
credit card there is a 3-cent per gallon handling charge.
Budget Program
The budget
program is a 10-month even payment plan that runs from June 1st to
March 30th. A set price per gallon is determined in late May or
early June. You decide how many gallons you wish to budget, multiply by the
set price, and divide by 10. The calculated number is your monthly budget
payment. Contact the Wanamingo office if you would like to sign up for the
budget payment. You may send in payment or use automatic withdrawal for the
budget.
Automatic Withdrawal
With automatic
withdrawal we can deduct the amount of your bill right out of your checking account.
You can use the automatic withdrawal for your monthly balance or with a
budget payment. The automatic withdrawal is confidential and saves you the
time and money of having to write and mail a check. First time users of our
automatic withdrawal will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to Farm Country
Co-op. Please contact Heather at the Wanamingo office if you are interested.

Installation and
Leases
You can lease or
purchase propane tanks from Farm Country Co-op. The installation charge is
subject to the distance from your heat source to your tank setting. Please
call the Wanamingo office for details. We do request at least 48 hours
advance notice for setting a tank. If there is a change of property ownership
the tank lease does not transfer to the new property owner until the new
owner completes a credit application and lease, so please contact the
Wanamingo office. If you own your tank, you will receive a 2-cent per gallon
discount on your LP purchases.
Reading your Propane
gauge
Under the hood
of your propane tank is a gauge. The gauge reads the percent full. To read
your gauge, please drop the hood down onto the tank. This helps make sure the
gauge is not stuck. The needle will point to the percentage your tank is at.
If it is winter and your gauge reads below 20% please call.
Discounts
Farm Country
Co-op offers a 5-cent discount on propane if paid for within 10 days of delivery.
The discount does not apply to prepaid, booked, COD or will call customers,
or credit card payments.
Out of Gas Policy
If you run out
of gas please contact the Wanamingo office as soon as possible. If it is after-hours
the answering machine will have an after-hours number for you to call. Due to
liability reasons, Farm Country Co-op cannot deliver the propane unless you
are present. The driver must relight all the pilot lights and check the
system for leaks at each appliance. Will call and COD customers will be
charged $95.00 for this system check
